Antalis are finally adding professional packaging solutions to their local portfolio - 19-09-2011


It’s not before time that Antalis South Africa (Pty) Ltd can now finally add a packaging division to their ever-increasing expertise portfolio.

Marlin Moonsamy This new packaging division, headed up by Marlin Moonsamy as Cross-Selling Packaging Manager, will combine market research, product portfolios and sales training; Moonsamy certainly has his work cut out for him!

“Initially I will be responsible for the implementation of the packaging strategy to our existing customer base ensuring that they get the first bite of our packaging pie. We’ve focussed our time and resources into understanding exactly what their current packaging requirements are to ensure we can deliver immediately. That said I am also very keen to broaden our horizons quickly by reeling in new customers.

I believe that the market is ripe for our launch.” shared an enthusiastic Moonsamy when asked what plans he’d already implemented in the short time since taking up his position with Antalis.

“To date Antalis South Africa has been the only Region of the Antalis Group Worldwide without a packaging division. We’ve done extensive investigation into what’s available in the market as well as potential volumes. It’s been important for us to understand the external factors that affect this market – factors such as exchange rate fluctuations, oil prices, seasonality etc. By building up our knowledge bank we will be able to correctly identify how the market is likely to respond and to act accordingly. “ continued Moonsamy.

“Marlin brings extensive experience to this role having worked across a wide range of areas within the printing and plastics industry. As the packaging industry is dynamic we were looking for someone whose background clearly showed their capacity to keep up with the fast paced and challenging environment – we strongly believe that we’ve found that person in Marlin.” said Keith Solomon, Director at Antalis.
